When you’re added as a proxy, you can work on behalf of another user in InterAction+™ instead of just as yourself. It's best for support staff, like legal assistants, to operate as a proxy for the person they support—so that any work they do is properly recorded under the correct profile. When acting as a proxy, a special menu and a banner indicating whose behalf you’re working on appear on every page, helping you easily switch between acting as yourself or on behalf of another user.
If someone added you as a Proxy, you can act as that person while working in InterAction+™. As a best practice, support staff should work as a Proxy for the attorney or business leaders they support. For example, often an Attorney will add a Legal Assistant as a proxy. If the legal assistant works as "Myself", all contacts will be added to their lists/profile and not the Attorney's.
After you are added as a proxy of one or more users, the Tab will change slightly to include a new menu. This menu is labeled with the name of the user you are currently acting on behalf of, or Myself. The image below shows the Tab with the user acting as Myself:
A user may be a proxy for one or more other users. A user may also have one or more proxies.
While acting as a Proxy, a banner is also displayed across the top of every page, just below the toolbar. The image below shows the Working on behalf of a user banner:
