Opportunities help you track potential business through your pipeline. You can review opportunities in lists and edit records as business needs change. For example, if you worked with a company on handling OSHA cases, you may win the business or the company may handle the work internally. In either case, you can close the opportunity and record an outcome and reason. You can edit any opportunity field at any time, including the date opened.

Edit an Opportunity
- In Client Insights, select Pipeline Management tab on the left. The Opportunities page will open.
- Select the Opportunity you want to edit.
- Click Edit Opportunity.
- Edit the fields as needed. See Adding an Opportunity for more information about the individual fields.
If a Custom field was updated and made required, you will need to enter the required information in the Opportunity before you can save the Opportunity after updating.
Update an Opportunity's Stage
- In Client Insights, select Pipeline Management from the menu on the left. The Opportunities page will open.
- Select the Opportunity for which you want to update the Stage.
- In the Stages box, select Change Stage. The Edit Stage window will open.
- From the Stage list, select the new Stage:
- Qualifying
- Engaging
- Negotiating
- Closing
- Save your changes.
Close an Opportunity
- In Client Insights, select Pipeline Management from the menu on the left. The Opportunities page will open.
- Select the Opportunity you want to close.
- In the Status box, click Update Status. The Edit Status window opens.
- Select Closed.
- Update the date fields as needed.
- Select an Outcome from the list.
- Select one or more Reasons from the list.
- Update the Actual Revenue and Est. Revenue fields.
- Save your changes.
Pipeline Management features are only available to Strategic Data users.
Delete an Opportunity
Only administrators and the person who created an opportunity can delete it.
- In Client Insights, select Pipeline Management tab on the left. The Opportunities page will open.
- Select the Opportunity you want to delete.
- Click Edit Opportunity.
- On the bottom left, click Delete Opportunity.
