The Review New Contacts process helps ensure that imported or newly created contacts have accurate information before they're added to the firm’s records. This involves checking contacts that came in through Outlook Sync or IQ, editing any missing details, and deciding whether to add them to Firm Contacts or just your personal contacts. If a contact doesn’t belong in your list of known contacts, you can remove them from view.
Many lawyers and other professionals don’t have the time to update and monitor their contacts. As a result, the challenge of maintaining accurate data and understanding the strength of those relationships can cost firms time, resources and business.

Outlook Sync Contacts
Contacts that are created in Outlook can be imported with Smart Connect. These Contacts are imported without the Client Insights user performing any action. When Contacts are imported, they are made available for review by the user. While reviewing imported Contacts, the user can complete any data missing from the Contact and decide whether to share the Contact with the firm.
The Outlook Sync Contacts screen lists the information available for each Contact that is being imported. The type of Contact is indicated by icons:

Incomplete Contacts, so the type cannot be determined
- Click REVIEW NEW CONTACTS on the Contacts page. The Review New Contacts page will display.
- Do one of the following:
- Hover over each Contact that needs to be edited. A pencil icon
will appear in the far right of that Contact's row. Click the pencil icon
.
- Click the check box in the header row of the list to select all Contacts.
- Select each Contact to add to Contacts by clicking the check box in the far left of the row.
- Hover over each Contact that needs to be edited. A pencil icon
- To add a Contact to the firm Contacts when it is imported, select the slider under Save to Firm.
- Click ACCEPT to finalize import of the selected Contacts. The Contacts that are not selected will appear again the next time the Review New Contacts screen loads.
IQ - Pending Review
This page supplements the IQ NCR Email, enabling attorneys or proxies to provide suggestions on how data stewards should process new IQ contacts from InterAction+.
Some firms may delegate secretaries, assistants, or other staff as proxies to managing contacts collected by IQ.
To review new contacts:
- Optional: Proxy in on behalf of the lawyer or professional you are supporting
- Go to Contacts and click on the IQ - Pending Review tab.
- Check the box next to the contact you want to process.
The suggestions for the data steward are as follows:

| Add to My Contacts Only | The contact has been approved for promotion to My Contacts |

Your suggestion will be sent to the data steward for further review.
IQ - Added to Firm
There is also an Added to Firm tab where users can see contacts IQ has added for them and choose to Add to My Contacts or Add to List in bulk. This page will display any contacts created by IQ, which have been added to the firm, and are contacts that you have a knows relationship with.
If you don’t know these contacts, clicking on the contact and unchecking the I know this contact checkbox will remove the knows relationship and will also remove from the grid.
