Tasks can be linked to Initiatives and Opportunities. Strategic Data users can link the Task to Opportunities and Initiatives. Essentials+ users can link the Task to other contacts. Tasks can be created for the end user or for the entire Firm.
- Click on the Tasks tab.
- Click

- Complete the form:
- Subject: Add a title for the Task.
- Assign to user: By default, the Task is assigned to you, but you can assign it to anyone in your firm, by clicking on the Assign to user field, entering the person's last name, and then selecting the name from the list.
- Task Type: The list is based on activity types created for your organization. Select the Task Type from the list.
- Due date: Either enter the Due date for the Task or select the Due date from the Calendar. The Due Date must be either today's date or a future date.
- Subject: Add a title for the Task.
- Optional for Firm Tasks: Viewable To: By the default the task will be viewable to everyone. If you want to restrict Task visibility, select Only Me and Assigned to User.
- Optional for Firm Tasks: If you want to lock the Task from editing, click the Lock Editing toggle. the task will be grayed out for all other users.

Optional: To link a Task to a Contact, an Initiative, or an Opportunity, select the appropriate options from the Contacts, Opportunity, and/or Initiative list. You are limited to linking the Task to one Opportunity and one Initiative.
Objectives and Initiative are available to Strategic Data users only.
- Optional: You can associate a Task with groups. Select an Industry and/or Practice Group. You are limited to one value for each of Industry and Practice Group. Values for Industry are suggested based on the industry associated with the company above. Values for Practice Group are suggested based on the assigned user.
- Add any Notes for the Task.
- Save your changes. The new Task will display on the Grid and on the Initiative or Opportunity home page if it is linked to an Initiative or Opportunity.
