Data Minder allows firms to define normalization rules. Run the Data Minder Utility to implement the changes you've made to rules.
Data normalization rules impact only firm contacts, not individual contacts.
When you open Data Minder, you'll see the Data Normalization screen.
- Contact Fields: The contact fields for which rules can be added (e.g, Country)
- Rule Definitions: The rules you set for a selected Contact Field
- Normalize Firm Contacts: Run process to apply your set rules to existing InterAction+™ contacts
Add Rule
Unless you've already set up contact rules in the Windows Client, no existing rules will appear here; Data Minder doesn't have any out-of-the-box rules.
- From the left menu, click Data Minder. The Data Normalization tab is open by default.

Select the Contact Field you want to set.
- Click Add New Rule.
- Complete the Add New Rule fields:

Value: Type the value or values that you want replaced with a different value. Separate multiple values with a semi-colon.

Replace with: Select the value with which you want the original value replaced.

- Click Save.
- Run the Data Minder Utility to implement your change (refer to Normalize Contacts According to Set Rule(s) (Data Minder Utility)).
Edit Rule
- From the left menu, click Data Minder.

Click the Contact Field that contains the rule you want to edit.

Hover your mouse over the rule and click
Edit Rule.
- Make your edits.
- Click Save.
- Run the Data Minder Utility to implement your change (refer to Normalize Contacts According to Set Rule(s) (Data Minder Utility)).
Delete Rule
- From the left menu, click Data Minder.

Click the Contact Field that contains the rule you want to delete.

Hover your mouse over the rule and click
Delete Rule.
- A confirmation message appears. Click Yes.
- Run the Data Minder Utility to implement your change (refer to Normalize Contacts According to Set Rule(s) (Data Minder Utility)).

Follow these steps to implement the changes you've made to rules
To prevent negative system impacts, normalize existing firm contacts:
- On a weekly basis.
- During non-business hours.
- Each time you add a rule, rather than waiting until after you've added multiple rules.
- From the left menu, click Data Minder.

In the Normalize Firm Contacts section, click NORMALIZE NOW.
- Read the informational message and click Run.
